We all love the peacefulness and relaxing atmosphere of smoking our hookah at home, but going to a hookah lounge or cafe also has it's perks. We frequent hookah lounges for many reasons like socializing and trying new flavors. RELATED - What to Do When Buying Your First Hookah Going to a hookah smoking lounge is a completely different experience than smoking a hookah at home and requires a whole different etiquette. Nobody wants to be that guy and become the center of attention in that manner! So this is to help point out some tips to make you a hookah lounge guru. - The first is to know what kind of setting you are walking into, is it a traditional Middle Eastern setting or a modern American setting for a hookah bar? In a traditional hookah lounge, passing the hose with your left hand could be viewed as impolite to some due to traditional customs and courtesies.
-
- If you are taking guests with you, let them pick the shisha flavors.
-
- Always pass the hose clockwise when with a group and point the hose towards yourself.
-
- Try to not blatantly blow your smoke in someone's face, it's rude no matter where you are!
-
- When using a multi-hose hookah, don't compete for smoke, only one person should be taking a turn at a time and the rest of the group should be plugging their mouth tip with their thumb.
-
- This brings us to another super important point, always use a hookah mouth tip! You never know how well the hose was washed or who used it last so get a mouth tip and don't share with your friends.
-
- If you are sick, you shouldn't be at the lounge!
-
- When you do find yourself at a hookah lounge, be polite to the staff, this is the golden rule of life, being rude gets you nowhere.
